J'ren paced around his weyr, nervously rubbing his head. Hauth was perched on the ledge outside, watching the scene below with interest.
You need to relax, J'ren. You will make a great Weyrleader. The bronze assured his bonded.
"How can you be so sure? I couldn't even talk to G'mar previously. I was far too... well.... quiet." He stopped, frowning. In his anxiety, he had forgotten to speak through his mind.

Wingbeats pounded on the air as a brown hovered just above the shelf. Hello Hauth. How are you this day? Gherlath asked pleasantly, G'mar giving a friendly wave from his back to J'ren and Hauth.

Hauth moved aside so the brown could land, giving a bugle of welcome. J'ren is stressed about Weyrleader position. Other than that, we are fine. He replied.
J'ren shot the bronze a look, before returning the wave. "Wey- I mean, G'mar. Welcome." He said, walking over to him.

"I'm no longer the Weyrleader, J'ren, you are." G'mar said, smiling as Gherlath landed, folded his wings, and he slid down his side.
Well, he will get used to it. It is not as hard as it seems. Gherlath replied, moving inside slightly to give Hauth room on the shelf.

J'ren winced. "Don't remind me..." He muttered, looking put out by the thought.
He is also concerned for Andy. Hauth added, moving into a more comfortable position on the ledge, curling his tail up around his legs.

"Why are you so tense about it?" G'mar asked, helping himself to a seat at a table. Thank goodness Emma and Timori were busy with their shiny stones.
Gherlath draped his tail over the edge, laying himself down. Why's that?

"Because I am not built for a Weyrleader! I don't know the first thing about leading even a single person." J'ren stated, sitting across from him. Syrai was asleep on the bed. Typical canine.
He likes her, but didn't want things to happen because of Lunth and me. Hauth explained, saying Lunth's name with affection.

Gherlath rumbled a happy note. He shall still have his chance.
G'mar sighed, rasing a hand to hold his head as he bent forward over the table. "Think about J'ren, Hauth wouldn't have chosen you, nor caught Lunth if you weren't a leading figure."

Hauth's eyes swirled slowly with happy blues and greens. If you say so.
J'ren looked thoughtfully at Hauth. "You think? He liked Lunth from the moment we first met her and Andy, and was determined to let her know that, even if he didn't catch her." He pointed out.

G'mar shrugged, and leaned back again, staring pointedly at J'ren. "Even so, Hauth had his reasons for choosing you."
Gherlath dipped his wedge of a head. They must now respect and get to know one another, despite yours and Lunths affections. They are Weyrwoman and Weyrleader now.

"I guess you're right." J'ren sighed, rubbing his eyes wearily. "Well then, what do I need to know?" He asked.
Hauth gazed back towards his bonded. True. No matter what, anyways, I will be there for him and help him. He said decidedly.

"You need to be strong, fair, and firm when adressing Lord Holders, or Minor holders. It's not good to show weakness, because there are a few Holders who find the cracks in the Weyrleaders and start blackmailing, in a sense." G'mar though about it a bit before actually saying it. He sat up a little straighter. "Let me hear the voice you'll use, and your facial expression."
Gherlath turned his head and looked in at G'mar. As will I for G'mar. He vowed.

J'ren stared blankly. "Voice and facial expression?" He sounded pretty dang pathetic right then. XD
Hauth snorted. Already, he is behind on Weyrleader things. He commented.

Well, he is young for a Weyrleader. He will learn Gherlath answered, highly amused by this now. G'mar, trying to teach, now that was something.
"Yes, your voice and facial expression. You need to have them ready if a Holder is trying to find your weakness and abuse it." G'mar stated aptiently, glancing at the dragons looking in, at Gherlath disapprovingly.

"I don't have any other expressions or vocal pitches." J'ren stated, looking uncomfortable.
Hopefully. Hauth said, giving a dragon laugh.
