Tara laughed, smiling again. Sarifa surfaced some ways out, slapping her forepaws against the water to get their attention, chittering like mad.

Cari giggled when the Gold continued to glare at her. "Anyways, are you a candidate for Mirror Lunth's clutch?" she asked Tara, curious.
Gina crooned to the otter, while Rican drifted closer, whistling curiously.

"Yes, I am. I arrived recently by runner. I didn't want to impose on the blueirder who had found me, so he came back before I did."She shrugged, and turned her mind back to the flitts and otter.
Zarifa spat salt waer rught into Rican's face as he came to close. chittering again, and vanishing into the depths.

"Oh, really? I'm a Trainer at the Weyr, so I will be there in case anything happens at the hatching. I'll be cheering for you." Cari said, smiling.
Rican screeched, flying off at top speed, right into Cari and hiding under her hair. Gina crooned, worried for the blue.

"Well, thanks." Tara murmered, then rushed into the oncoming waves after the otter. She splashed the water angrily with her hands, whistling until she showed up again, looking bashful. Tara scooped her out of the water, and returned, dripping, to shore, ignoring the otter's squels as she tried to get away, though her keeper held her tight.

Cari stroked the blue, calming him down. "Sorry. He isn't that old, so he is still easily scared." She watched Gina and Miran come back, landing on either of her shoulders.

"I'm afraid Zarifa isn't easily trained, nor any of the otters. They like their games, and that seems to be one of them." She smiled apologetically, and hummed softly to calm Zarifa, and soon she stopped struggling, and just glared angrily at her.

"Give it a shot if you want, but call me if she starts to drive you nuts." Tara replied with another shrug, thoroughly miffed nowwith Zarifa. Why did she do this now of all times?

"Okay. Should I take her now, or would some other time be better?" She asked.
((Should she be able to train Zarifa?))

Tara held out the otter. "Try now if you'd like. She bugs the other animals in the Weyr, so it's best if we not go back for a while." He smile was a little strained.

Cari took the otter, murmuring to her in a quiet tone. Meanwhile, her mind was reaching out to calm Zarifa, another part of her training.

Zarifa's chittering stopped instantly at Cari's strange touch, and she hissed, disliking the caressing feel of it, so different from a physical hand.
Tara shrugged. "The trainer from Murva tried reaching out, and got the same reaction. You tried to touch her with your mind, right?" She explained and asked, rather sceptical that the otter could be trained up.

Cari kept her mind at least close enough that Zarifa could get used to it. "Yes... I am..." She said, her voice sounding distracted and distant.
