Motherly Trouble

"Jaya, come back here!" Nira called, racing from the hold to run after her golden flitt, who raced towards the minging tunnels that cotted the large base of the dormant valcanoe. Jaya chirped back to her bonded, dipping around a bend. Nira followed, quickly calling to Marvanth in case the fire lizard flew where she could not reach. Despite her efforts, the gold tended to ignore her in search of one thing or another, though she always had a good reason for leaving: A stray feline in trouble, a canine pup stuck beneath rumble, or something.

I come, Nira. Jaya say Abuto in trouble. We help? Marvanth answered her call, her language developped a bit more than other Abuto after the constant conversations with her bonded. The still weak queen glided into the tunnels, loosing a few feathers in her haste as she furled her four wings. She padded swiftly after Nira, as ll Abuto, she she fast on both earth and in the air.

She didn't explain. Thank you Marvanth. Nira rounded the corner, the Mirror near invisible beside her but for her eyes. She drew ahead, and they both blinked as the tunnel grew more lighted, and they entered a rock shelf on the base side. Laying there was a hurt Dawn, her side ripped open by the fall, her blood pooling on the rocks. Her left wings were bashed and broken, and her breaths were ragged. She was close to death. But laying next to her, attempting to gain milk, was a child Abuto, not more than 10 min old. Marvanth moved forward, her nose touching against the wild Dawns. She gave a great sigh of relief at what the Mirror said, though Nira knew nothing of it. Silently, the Dawn slipped away, leaving her infant stranded with the Trainer, her flit, and a fellow Queen.

ooc// I was thinking Marvanth could fly the child to the hold, Jaya following, while Nira and your charcter hurried by foot to the hold. Then Marvanth would suckle the child, untill he/she could impress or go wild. That alright with you?

ooc// Sounds good. So bring in Sasha once they get to the weyr?

ooc// There's no time. The child will inpress within hours after birth, but for everyone is different. Besides, they shouldn't be moved untill they Impress or not. How about in the tunnels? Nira will be running through soon enough.

ooc// Okay. So just pretend Sasha was down there for soem random reason? ^^

ooc// Yup. I won't post anymore untill you do...so I don't end up roleplaying with myself.

bic// It had not been one of her better ideas. Wanting to get away from her older brothers, and trying to do something to break the boredom of Candidacy, she had decided to take a skin of poems to the lower caverns -the really low low caverns. But now as her eyes just barely adjusted to the dim light, she realised with stupidity she had forgot something.

Glows.

Now what was she supposed to do? With a sigh, Sasha turned to go back up back where she came from. Unfortunately, she turned the wrong way, and got lost...once she realised she didn't know where she was, the girl began to panic slightly, dashing around the tunnels, her footsteps echoing. Once her initial panic wore off, she stopped, only to hear a strange sound up ahead....

She followed it.

ooc// The lower caverns don't actualy connect to the mining tunnels, but I don't think it matters for the moment.

bic//Marvanth closed her eyes, a deep hum reverberating through her body. Jaya joined in on a lower, sadder note, and together they sang for the Dawn as she passed. As they did so, Nira stooped down, gently removing the child from its mother. It had no color, nor gender as of yet, and wouldn't gain any untill its mind developped within the next few hours. It cried out as it was pulled away from its mothers milk, struggling weakly in her grasp.

"Shh....Don't cry now." She murmered in a sweet, soft tone. Marvanth approached, sensing her bodeds intentions.

I will feed the child untill it is old enough for meat. The Mirror stated. Weak as she was from her birthing, Marvanth would not be dittered. Jaya hushed her voice, and settled hersel fon Nira's head.

ooc// WHoops! I'm too lazy to fix it currently though...I will get around to it sometime.

bic// it sounded like humming. She walked a little faster, ever curious. Sasha burst in on Nira, Maravnth, and the little Abuto. And shock completely transformed her face.

"What are they?" she didn't say it in an insulting way, just in her too-curious, alert voice.

ooc// Sorry it's short...I'm in a complete blank mood...

Nira hugged the Abuto child closer to her chest, backing up a step. She didn't think anyone would be up here. Its cries were smothered for amoment, and it stopped crying, griping her shirt tightly as it sensed the surprise emenating. Marvanth growled slightly, automaticly ready to defend the child.

"It's an Abuto child." Nira eventually answered, holding the child out slightly. Its color was starting to fade. It needed to be fed, and soon. Marvanth, it needs to be fed. Quickly. Marvanth nodded, and flipped onto her side, exposing her belly for the child. The trainer knelt and set the child against her underside, watching the color come back to its skin as it drank the Mirrors already depleted milk. She turned to look at Sasha.

"You'll have to do. Sit there." She pointed to the ground, then intructed Jaya to fetch some fresh meat, from anywhere. The gold chirped, and vanished between, returning instantly with meat fresh from the Weyr. She was smart, and chose not to steal.

" An Ah-bute-o?" she asked, pronouncing it carefully. The candidate looked rather confused- she'd never heard of an Auto before. Flinching as the large one growled at her, and watched with sympathy when Nira frantically held the tiny one to the larger one, she did as instructed and st on the ground, absentmindedly twirling a lock of carmel hair with nervousness. Saffron popped from between and chattered angrily at Sasha before giving a couple self-satisfied chirps and settlig on the girl's shoulder.

[Dead Crows]

A brownrider flew in on his dragon and got off, and came striding over to Nira. "Ah, Trainer Nira. I saw your Jaya come in the Weyr and was cheeping at me in the kitchens while I had my klah." and he looked at the little Abuto. "Thats strange... Don't queens have more than one abuto child?" he asked not entirely sure for he was a dragonrider, not a trainer. From the cliffs Fysenth rumbled a congratulations of the birthing to the abuto queen as it was only respect to appreciate the birth of a new being.

Jaya gave a chirp to the other Gold, then glided around the area, chirping insistantly at a rock cluster. Quickly, Nira stood and went over to it, shocked to find another child, hurt but alive. She tenderly retrieved it from its rocky bed, and lay it next to its sibling. 'Poor thing... Must have fallen with the mother. The other wasn't injured, but the Dawn couldn't catch this one.' She thought, telling Jaya to fetch more meat.

Saffron preened herself while singing a greeting back to Jaya. Her tail wound itself around Sasha's neck protectively, but she jumped to the air as the other Abuto was discovered, flying in circles over it and its sibling.
Sasha just watched, but to break the silence, she asked,
"What exactly are Abuto?"

[Krisley]

" A species that were found around the volcano. Hello Rider N'tall." Nira answered both, turning to tend to the children. She ripped the left cuff off her sleeve off with a jerk, pressing it gently against the wound on the second childs flank. It was breathing heavily. Jaya soon returned, dropping the meat beside the first batch.

[Frimblia]

"Do you need any help?" Sasha asked. She wasn't sure if she would be much of a help, but it was worth a try to ask. She was worried by how the newer Abuto bled, and her heart wrenched for it.

ooc// Veeeeeeeeerry short. Sorry about the almost one-linerness...
