ooc// This is for people who may pop off, but want to get their candidates here.
The first egg began to wobble, a bright yellow-white in color. Gherlath, watching over the eggs from the shelf usually reserved for the Weyrleaders dragon, lifted his head, peering closely at the eggs.
G’mar, they are ready to hatch. Hurry. The brown called to his rider, on his way down the stairs to take his place with the dragon. He sped up at this news, flying around corners.
Call the candidates. They’ll hatch soon. He answered as he nearly tripped down the stairs. He quickly gained his balance, and rushed into the Weyrleader’s seat. The Weyrwoman’s was empty. Moments later, Gherlath sent out a bugle, loud enough to reach the farthest corners of Abuton, sending out the mental notice: All candidates to the Sands. The hatching is starting.
Emma started to hum, lifting off from her desperate grip on the rider’s shoulder, and gliding above the clutch. Wild fire lizards began to flit in, as well as some wild abuto. Their song was more wild then the remaining dragons’ hums, but it rose in such beautiful harmony, it was doubtful the clutch would be anything except wondrous.

A voice of a dragon echoed into her head. "The hatching!" Kaila squealed in delight as she raced to the Sands on quick feet. This was the moment she had been anticipating.
Libby's gaze turned to a girl running widly. "Hmmm," she said to herself as she watched the girl go. Suddenly a voice drilled itself into her head. "The hatching? Already?" she asked herself as she followed the girl who looked like she was going to the Sands.
Libby arrived at the Sands, gazing around, not knowing what to do. Her eyes gazed over a brightly colored egg, a smile crossing her face.
Kaila reached the Sands panting. "I heard....hatching...happening." she said between deep gulps of air. After she had regained her breath she began to jump from foot to foot, hoping she would be able to impress and from the warmth of the sands through her sandals. Kaila's eyes also fell on the bright colored egg which looked like it was going to hatch soon.

Honora flicked her dark hair over her shoulder, still surveying the Candidate Barracks. Then, a single thought, clear as day, entered her mind. Her bag, sitting on the cot, looked suddenly much less important as the thought bounced around in her head.
The hatching. She couldn't grinned as she listened to the thought in her mind. Amazing. It was amazing.
Honora felt the last word echo around in her mind before she got up, watching as many candidates dashed for the grounds. This was what they've all been waiting for.
She jogged the short distance to the hatching grounds, waiting by the entrance as she saw a girl struggling for breath. Someone had ran fast. Another girl was standing there, looking slightly bemused.
Honora felt heat from her feet, and she looked down, then towards the Hatching grounds. The sands were giving off enough heat that waves of warmth were wafting by her feet. She studied the grounds through the entranceway, watching an egg rock. She was shaking with anticipation. And the noises that the dragons made... Her smile got wider. A harmony of hums and cries. She wasn't really one for music, but she knew that this would be one of the sweetest sounds she'd ever hear.

Slightly worried, Eero slipped his candidate robe over his bare self, pulling on the ceremonial sandels as he went. Loner watched silently from by the door, treading his paws. They'd both heard the call, echoing through both mind and land. Flinging his ponytail over his shoulder, he examined himself, frowning at the image. The robe showed off his thin, bony physique, and didn't quite fit properly. Still forwning, he opened his door and made his way to the Sands, Loner trailing along behind, growling lightly at all the running candidates that passed them.

Candidate robes, Honora hurriedly thought as she saw a lone male clad in white drift towards them. She hissed out a breath, noting that neither of the other girls had them on either.
Hastily, Honora looked for more people in the robes. No, he was the only one so far. But at the one hatching she had attended, they had all been wearing them. Why hadn't she remembered? She blamed the voice that had projected thoughts into her head.
The blue-eyed girl quickly looked for where the source of the robes could be. She headed back to the Candidate Barracks in defeat, noting that they had been hanging directly above her bed, sandals on the floor, neatly together. Honestly, how thick could she get? Berating herself, she slipped the articles on, not pausing to admire herself before she headed back towards the hatching grounds, sandals making soft padding noises on the stone floor.

Kaila noticed a girl who had seemed to change her clothes. "Do we need to where things like that?" she asked cautiously. In her haste, she had forgotten anything like this. She noticed that another boy was also wearing the same clothes like the girl was. She looked down at her normal clothes. "Where do you get them?" she asked again, deciding that she HAD to wear these clothes.
Libby still had her eyes on the shaking yellow egg. She longed to reach out to the egg and caress its shell, but thought against it just in case she couldn't.

((AAAAAAAAH!!!))
Tey ran in, robes billowing behind her. For once she was unaccompanied by her mob of creatures- she didn't want them to get hurt if any dragonets decided to maul people or anyone in their way. She skidded into place, quickly bowing to... well, whatever dragons were present, and then proceeding to stare at the eggs expectantly.
Yekar also rushed in and did the same. Woah, this was brilliant!
((sorry that sucks, I'm busy and only have a sec to post.))

Eero gave Loner a soft pat on the head, and pointed towards the wall. The canine whimpered once, but went and sat next to the entrence, head low. The boy glanced at the other candidates, then at the eggs. One was rocking, a slight scratching eminating from it. Quickly, he stepped into place, noting he was once of the first males to arrive.

Honora sighed happily as she realized that she was wearing the proper clothing, and she went to begin the line of female candidates; but a soft voice cought her ear. She turned to the speaker, who had asked where to find the clothes.
"Mine were hanging right above my cot," She said with a soft smile, before turning forward once more and taking her place. She gently bowed to the dragons present, straightening up and surveying the eggs with an air of subtlety, though she really wanted to run her hands over one, feel the mottles beneath her palm, and watch goosebumps go all up her arm. She restrained herself, etching the details of each fine egg into her mind.

All Candidates to the Sands. The hatching is starting. The words rang through his head as he unpacked, having just arrived. Ervin left his belongings be, pulling off his street clothes and throwing the robe over his head. As Layna mewed in confusion, he tugged on the sandels and opened the door.
"Coming Layna?" He asked, and the feline jumped off the bed, racing after him.
The feline veered off when they arrived at the Sands, sitting by the opposite side of the entrence to the canine. Ervin strode up next to Eero, missing the familiar weight of his dagger. The egg was rocking more violently though, and so he turned his eyes forward, hardly daring to breathe.

Kaila nodded and thanked the girl as she told the other girl, admiring the yellow egg. "We must change!" she said grabbing the girl's wrist and running as quickly as she could to the barracks so she wouldn't miss the hatching. When she arrived she let go of the girl's wrist and threw on her robe and sandles after the girl had left her to get her clothes on. She raced to the Sands and fell into line with the girl who she had spoke to. Libby swiftly changed after being dragged to the barracks then following Kaila. She watched from the line as the egg rocked.

Honora glanced as the girl entered to stand beside her, and smiled encouragingly. Inside, she was doing a happy dance, because she wasn't the only girl standing there, anymore.
The sands were hot, she noticed absent-mindedly, feeling the heat of the grains leaking through her thin sandals. She didn't care, though. This could be the most important day of her life. She looked at the eggs again, watching the one that walked furiously, ears aching to hear the sounds of a shell splitting open. How long would it be? She wondered, glancing back towards the entrance. There were no candidates running through, but there had to be more.

Kaila caught the girl's smile so she tilted her head back and gave the girl her infamous wide smile. She looked back to the egg as she jumped from foot to foot. It seemed like the young dragon was going to explode out of its egg at any minute. Libby was next to Kaila in the line of girl candidates. She could feel the warmth through her sandals. She gazed at the egg expectantly, hoping it would hatch now. To keep her occupied she clutched at the fabric of the robe and twisted it in her small hands.

ooc// I'll only post this one hatching post untill 6, to give other people more time.
A second egg started to rock, knocking against the first with light clicks. It was a dull brown-gold, with streaks of light brown flecking the surface. It was smaller than the first, and not as bright though. A crack started to form, spreading swiftly across the eggs surface. With a sigh, it caved in, leaving the dragonet standing amongst the shards of its egg. It was a brown, golden-brown in color, with swirls of a lighter hue circling around his eyes, legs, and chest. He stretched, fanning out his currently useless wings, and staring about, blinking bleary eyes. His wings were lined with an even lighter hue of brown.
The first egg had been rocking more erratically since the second had been hitting it, and it now burst open, sending egg shards flying across the sands. Standing there was a proud bronze, head raised and stance firm. He was rather lightly hued for a bronze, but all the same, it was good to know that a king would live. He looked up at the singing Abuto, Fire lizards, and humming dragons. He tried a hum, and it came out much like a kit’s purr.

Kaila's eyes widened at the newly hatched dragonets. She studied the small creatures with admiration. There was going to be more hatched, she figured excitedly. She had just witnessed two dragonets hatch, which had left her breathless. At that moment she had forgotten about the warmth on the bottom of her feet. Libby gave a quiet, but excited 'oh' as the dragonets hatched out of their eggs. She had come to see this and try and impress one. She pushed a strand of dark brown hair our of her eyes as she gazed over the other eggs.
