Ami, curiously following the flow of the people towards the sands, wiggled closer to stared in fasination at the eggs and then, to her shock, the hatched noka. She had heard about the creatures, and found herself nearly face to face with one. Her mind sung in joy, disbelieving this was all real.

The Water dweller sat back on his haunches, flicking his tail across the sand. Grains of it were getting stuck to his still damp fur, but it seemed he didn't care. He turned his dark eyes on each of the gathered humans, ears perked forward.
Another egg began to twitch, this one nearly completely free of sand, and in danger of falling to it's side. The egg shook harder, and it did fall, to the horror of Ronite, though tradition held her bound in place, calling her encouragement.
A crack crawled down the side open to the air, and a little wing pushed it's way free of the pearly white shell, flaring and flapping uselessly. More cracks spread across the surface, and a head pushed its way out, then a leg. Slowly the little, undersized flyer, was free of the egg, and lifting it's streamlined head. Pale, crystaline blue eyes looked at the humans, and she mewed once in greeting. It was soft, and musical, like her flyer parents. Her fur was pure white, though there were little spots of black along her wing arms, and around her eyes. She sat down, and began to lick the moisture off.

Ami gave a small gasp, staring at the beautiful flyer, her gaze flicking over to the water dweller. They were both so graceful... so majestic.... Against her better intentions, she found herself taking a small step closer, eyes wide.
Cari watched the kits, amazed. She had seen kits, surely, but never a hatching. I mean, what human had? She watched the candidates, momentarily envying them, before giving herself a mental shake. Wake up! You are a trainer, not a dragonrider, not a nokarider, no! A trainer. She told herself firmly.
Tasia was openly gaping at the new kits. This was more amazing than a dragon hatching, except when she impressed Chapeth, she reminded herself, as the dragon gave her a slight jab with her nose. You choosing me was the most fantastic thing in the world, and always will be. She stated, receiving a soft croon in reply.

J'ren sat in the stands, watching the hatching with fasination. It was well worth it to be here. Then again, what else would he be doing, but sitting in the weyr with Andy, wondering what to do? Of course, he loved spending time with Andy -not that he would tell her that- but there was only so much silence he could stand. The deafening roar that was the humming, purring, and singing was a welcome change.

Another egg shook, this one a larger, brown-grey in colour. The water dweller turned his head to look, trying out a purr. It came out as a weezy hiss, and he stamped his paw, annoyed the flyer could mew, and yet he couldn't. The egg broke evenly, but nothing was inside. A little ways away the sand collapsed in on a small figure, and it climbed out of the hole, spitting sand from it's muzzle. A sturdy digger, he was, with dark brown fur, flecked with gray along his paw and tail. He raised his broad head to look at the gathered people and creatures, not caring that his wet fur was covered in sand.
Sinis, why are they singing? Your dear friend Queno doesn't understand The digger said, being the first to impress. He turned hi vibrant green eyes on Sinis, as the song raised to a pitch again.
ooc// His normal colour code is FF8C00. It'll change when he has strong emotions, just like any Noka.

((Burrowed out... .*giggles*))
Ami stared at the empty shell, eventually finding the brown noka. "He dug out?" She asked, confused. They could dig and all that from birth? She had only heard there were strange creatures reappearing from below ground.

"Appears so. Never knew they could dig." Kiriana started to lean over he stand trying to get a better view past the ranks of Noka and she started to fall and landed an un intenionally and unexpectedly. Only then did she realize, she didn't know how to get back up and couldn't climb if she wanted too, for she had no weyrhide and was wearing skirts!

The flyer have a little purr, greeting the Noka around her. She'd found her voice, and even to her own ears, it sounded beautiful. She looked over at the clutch as yet another egg shook, this time a lovely tan colour, with shades of gray melded in. It shook only for a moment, and Ronite worriedly looked on, fearing for the kit. Then, as sudden as a summer storm, the egg burst apart, and a larger landwalker strode onto the sand, shaking egg goo and shell fragments from his fur, and lifting his head proudly. His fur was a light tan colour, similar to Bane's, bit with underlying hues of gray and black. He looked over the candidates, then turned his gaze on Kiriana, who'd fallen from the sands.
Get up, friend Kiriana. I am Tyre, and you are covered in sand. He said it proudly and with cockiness. The Nokas were thrown slightly at the immidiate Impression, but it was Tyre's choice, not their own.

The few people who Aura had spoken with earlier, came forward, bearing milk and small chunks of soft meat for the Impressed in wide bowls. A woman pushed one food and one milk bowl on Sinis, while a man offered a hand to Kiriana, also bearing food a drink for Tyre.

Sinis entered the sands, hoping that the Noka would accept him. He was very shy and soon he was welcomed by the Noka and had a new friend. It was a digger named Queno. He was so handsome and large, very big, at first it seemed that nothing was in the egg, but then in the sand he popped up.
The singing is making me sad. ~I'm sorry Queno, I don't know either, but it doesn't matter, we have each other now, that's all that matters.~ said Sinis.
((Thank you))

"Thank you." Kiriana said for the help looking at her Noka as three flitts flew down chirping to Tyre and Tyzen who'd not taken much a liking to anyone but Kiriana, he still didn't show that much affection anyways, came to Tyre and actually chirped happily by him immediatly liking the creature. "I do hope Bretton will like you." Why wouldn't he? Whose Bretton? Tyre now asked with the same cockiness in his voice, maybe it was a trait of his. "He's the Lord of Murva, as I am the Lady." and she started to feed Tyre with Skylin and Denver watching Tyzen's odd behaviour of liking toward Tyre, as far as they knew Tyzen hated almost everyone.

And yet another egg shook, this one a bright, practically luminescant blue-green. The male Water Dweller took a step forward, trying out a purr again. It was a small, rumbling one, but just that one made him happy. He rumble-purred to the egg, knowing a sibling was inside. The egg cracked cleanly into two, and laying inside it was a lovely female water dweller, a beautiful green colour, with splashes of bright, melding blue across her fur. A large splash of white surrounded her right eye.
Delicatly, she setpped free of the shell, so much thinner yet gracefull than her brother, if that was possible. Like the Flyer, she mewed a musical note to her mother behind her, and stepped forward to touch noses with the other waater dweller, greeting him warmly. The male was glad his sister had made it through her shell, and in such a carefull, almost planned wy. And her eyes, so deeply green in colour that they could almost be black or blue. After greeting her brother, she sat and began to clean herself as the flyer had, taking her cleanlisness seriously, since there was no water nearby in which to bathe. Her tail fanned out, showing it to be larger and average, and promising that she wopuld be an excellent swimmer, perhaps and artist at it. Ronite was prouder than ever for her kits.

The male Water dweller finally turned towards the candidates for a lcoser inspection, standing and trotting before each fo them in turn, observing their thought patterns closely. No kit knew of the mental restrictions during a Noka hatching, so they were free to delve into a candidates thoughts, to check if they were the one they truly wanted. He fanned out his tail in aggitation, sitting before Emilia for a moment, to rest his legs. It was his first time walking after all. He stood again, and padded down the ranks of humans, pausing every now and then. Finally, he sat before a girl, his dark eyes turned up at her, his tail splayed open across his webbed claw-paws.
Sorry for the wait, dear Libby. I, Raie, wished to see at least one of my siblings. He said in a cool, casual way, like they'd been friends all their lives.
From near the clutch, the female water dweller purred gently to Raie, wishing him well, before turning back to her cleaning.

A Lower Caverns woman approached, and offered Libby a bowl of milk, and one of meat, smiling in congratulations to her.

Another egg shook, a dark black in colour. It was nearly fully burried in the sand, and it's movement went unnoticed, untill a crack stretched across one side, and the hatching song rose again to a fevered pitch. The one end fell away, and two little eyes reflected in the weak light of the Hatching Sands, only half seen due to the sand. The figure within struggled against its shell, and a small paw scraped at the sand, and the kit pulled itself towards the opening, bright blue eyes wide with fear. The female Flyer turned, and quickly went to help, the grown Noka traditionaly bound to remain where they were. She dug at the sand as the trapped kit did, a low mewing echoing hollowly from within. The eyes darted frantically, and a free paw pulled at the sand desperately.
