As the last, elderly gold queen rose for her last time, the few dragonriders sent their last hopes with her. She was caught by the only elderly bronze, and laid a lovely clutch of 22, the largest in so many sevendays. But sadly, the gold betweened shortly afterward, leaving the strange clutch to be considered. The eggs were strange colours, some slightly larger or smaller than they should have been. Thoughts turned to Ruth, and hope was renewed. ‘Perhaps, ’The few reasoned. ‘Perhaps a dragon like the white will hatch, but a queen instead.’ Thoughts strayed briefly to the mutated clutches and birthings of the fire lizards and Abuto. With lighter hearts, the dragonriders set about collecting Candidates, their minds absorbed by the last fragment of hope. Only, as the Red Star swept across the sky, little did they know of the horror it brought once more.

The Weyr abounds now with the calls of young weyrlings. The hatch was a success, and now new queens rule the skies, with near a score of young Weyrlings hatched. Few of the first dragons of the founding Dragonriders now remain, as all are Elderly by this time.

Old alliances have been restored in the weyrs, with the Nokas of old. When riders fled the volcano ages ago to live in the North, the Nokas were forgotten. Now in peaceful times, the alliance is ever more strengthened and tested by the sudden appearance of a young female rider and her green dragon. What this entails neither the rider, nor current Weyrleader can foresee.

Mirror Lunth flew! G'mar passes the leadership of the Weyr unto J'ren, with the hopes of the future of Lunth's clutch on his and his Weyrwoman's shoulders.

The alliance with the Nokas is further strengthened and tested by a Noka hatching. strange kits emerged, bonding quickly with the humans who stood ready. Stangely, the Uunik's, or leader's, two daughters bonded as well, despite being fully grown.

Lunth's Clutch was as strange as the old Gold's last clutch, with strange new mutations stepping from broken egg husks to Impress with astonished Candidates. A smart little dragoness, her colour aptly called Lapis Lazuli, has become a topic of debate, whether she is a small queen or a fighter. What is to become of the dragoness no one is sure of, but it stands to reason there is some purpose to her hatching.
